RECORD STORE: “Someone”

6 Apr

While on the road rolling through Hillcrest in San Diego I stopped through a local record store, and guess what I found. Two records of legendary music artist Johnny Mathis with one of the hits my grandfather Bill Tennyson composed/wrote called “Someone”. This record was on the Top 40 in the 50s [1950s]. These albums have his name on them, I was so surprised to come across them, and happy! Below the photo are the lyrics to the song & video…

SOMEONE- JOHNNY MATHIS 1959
Someone really loves you; guess who.
Someone really needs you; guess why.
Someone wants to kiss you and hold you tight;
Someone wants to love you each and ev’ry night.

Someone wants to say hello;
I know he’ll never let you know.
When he looks into your eyes,
I know that you will realize
And know just who that someone must be;
I know you’ll know that someone is me.

(Musical interlude and pick up at third line.)

Someone wants to kiss you and hold you tight;
Someone wants to love you each and ev’ry night.
Someone wants to say, “Hello!”
I know he’ll never let you know.
When he looks into your eyes,
I know that you will realize
And know just who that someone must be;
I know you’ll know that someone is me.
